I am looking at the 7520 w/511 backhoe. Can anyone describe the process of connecting/removing the backhoe and the difficulty involved? Pictures would be nice. Also need to know what tools are required. Still in the decision process of buying a tractor and since I am new I need a lot of info. thanks in advance.

I hate to answer a question with a question, but have you asked a dealer this/these questions? A number of us could probably answer this (generically), but since it seems you are new, I'm not sure you'd understand some of the responses. Sorry if this seems a tad terse, but if you don't have a good mental picture of the process/interface, the explanation may not mean much....Any dealers out there with some help?? BobG in VA

Bob--I did talk to company reps at the Ag Fair in Moultrie, GA last week but they made it sound simple. I have read a post here that made it sound more difficult so that is why I asked the question. Even though I am new, I am learning and if someone throws out some info I don't understand it lets me know what I don't know and can ask more questions. I would rather learn before I have the tractor instead of getting it and then not know how. I want to try to figure out whether it will be more of a problem to take it off/put it on then it is worth. I would like to know that before I spend the resources. Make sense? thanks

Those of you that have this set up, after the initial installation, how long does it take to install and or remove the backhoe? 10 min, 30 min, does it take longer to hookup or to remove or about the same amount of time?

Just curious; thanks.;)

I've got a 511 and a 6000. Pretty much the same "rear end" as the 7520 (my assumption only). I give my self about 30 minutes on and about 15 minutes off. It really helps if when you take it off you leave it in such a manner that it is simpler to put back on, ie. curl of the bucket, bend in the dipper stick, etc. as you have to "rock" the hoe back into the tractor once the bottom connectors are in their subframe slots. Again, I'm sure its almost impossible to picture without a picture....BobG in Va

BobG, thanks for the response. The time frame is mainly what I was wondering about.

It takes me about 10mins on and 10mins off. The key for me in getting it back on is: 1. I have the hoe on flat concrete, and 2.if my alignment is right on when backing to put it on. If I am right on, the hoe drops in the cradle, pull the bucket in which pushes the top mounts into the tractor, drop my pins, and ready. If I'm not on, it can take me more than 15mins. I don't have a pump so its two hoses on the rear remotes to hook up the hyd. I also take my top link and part of the lower links off to make room for the hoe.
In my previous posts, I was wondering how this set up has now changed on the 20 series tractors. I would be interested in seeing a picture of a 20 series with a 511. I know that the mounting bracket part numbers are different for the 00 and the 20. I have heard it hooks up different, but never seen it set up. None of the dealers within a 100 miles of me have a 7520 with a back hoe to go look at.

Slippy--I think I am about to order a new 7520 w/FEL and 511 BH. If so will let all know how it works. It may take me time to figure it out myself since I am totally new at this tractor stuff. I think there are some other 7520 owners that have the BH already so if they make input it would be helpful.

Forgot to mention I've got the PTO pump/resevoir set up. The big thing, believe it or not, is backing up and getting everything lined up. Sounds simple, but you only have about an inche to play with and not I don't have mine on concrete, but a dirt floor. I take off the lower 3 pt arms to put on the BH. Actually, the time to take these off and especially the time to replace them (by myself) is longer than putting the BH on the 6000. BobG in VA
