I have problems getting rear locking pin into the hitch. Cannot get rear hole to align right on right side. Have had some difficulty in the past but could eventually get the pin in place. Anyone have any tips on how to get this to line up right.

Same outfit we have.
Hmm-Is your "T" bolt tightened down?
I hang the subframe on the tractor then step on the front of the subframe and it swings up into position so the pin in question can be inserted.
Then tighten the T bolt.
The left front tire is sometimes in the way a little.
Blower or plow?
Post back.
Good Lock!

New day and I was able to manipulate frame just enough by having my son step on front of hitch. Then slightly angle pin in and tapped until aligned. After that the pin slid the rest of the way in without problems. Attaches snow plow and now ready for winter.

Does anyone know if I can just put on front rubber tire chains to improve traction of turf tires. Would have to buy rear spacers for rear chains and not ready to commit to that. Would front rubber tire chains alone without rear ones hurt the FWD or front axle?

The part of the subframe that the pin slides through (the tube that is permanently mounted to the tractor) can be attached in two different ways. One way puts the tube closer to the front of the tractor and the other way puts the tube closer to the rear. If that's not the problem, I would loosen all the bolts that hold the plate/tube and see if you can slightly change its position to match what your hitch and pin require before tightening it back up.

I've used front tire chains alone on all 4 of my Kubotas with no problems. The increase in tire diameter caused by the chains is insignificant when running in snow or mud. As a precaution, I always take the tractor out of 4WD when running on dry hard surfaces though.

Thanks for the advise. I may order front rubber chains and try out.

I agree. I prefer turf or industrial tires over Ag type and I've run fairly large front chains only on my 4wd tractors in the winter and the mud for over 40 years now. Never had the slightest problem; not even when using the loader to push and lift snow. But I stay aware of the possibilities and pay attention to the surface we're running on.
There's no doubt that anytime that you put that much additional stress on an axle - particularly the smaller front axle with its smaller driveshaft - there is a potential for mechanical damage. With chains on the front you are suddenly going from no traction to huge traction up there. Just be reasonable and you'll be fine.

Check your operators manual (or post pictures of the rear wheels) to see if the rear tread width is adjustable.

I installed my quick hitch on mine last week. Like you I had trouble getting the pin in the first time. I took it back off and it went a lot smoother the second time. Now if we get some snow so I can try it.
