difference in belts

I have a RC60-92H deck and need a new belt... Looking it up, it looks like it requires 76535-34710 for a belt... This belt is 5/8" x 111".... I stopped by dealer today and he would have to order that belt at $95.00... I also found 70720-34710 as a belt#... This is supposedly for a RC60-71H and is 5/8" x 111"... He has this one in stock and at 1/4th the price... What could be the difference in these 2 part #'s? They look like the same size belts but vastly different prices and availability... Any help would be appreciated...

There are two major types of belts the automotive type has rubber on the sides and is made not to slip, an industrial belt has fabric sides and is made to slip without damaging it if it required to do that. You can not use an automotive belt in-stead of the industrial, Like on a riding mower.

I think since both are for the same use their construction would be similar. for 1/4 the price I would buy the one he has in stock. Put it on. The worst case is it will slip when you are in heavy cutting. If that is the case then go ahead and order the higher dollar one and keep the cheap one for a spare. If it doesn't slip you have saved yourself some money now and in the future.
