Comparison Difference between DK45SE HST and NX4510 HST ...?

   / Difference between DK45SE HST and NX4510 HST ...? #11
I have looked at and test drove just about every tractor brand in the 30 to 45 HP range and the NX4510 HST was by far my favorite tractor. It seems like a good value for all that you get, even if you added the rear remote. The only thing I didn't like was the toggle switches for all the goodies they added. They're all under the one plastic cover. That cover would not last a month with me. I am rough on equipment.

If I had purchased an open cab that would have been a real concern (the switches under the cover thing) other than that The NX4510 HST is a great value after looking at what is out there.

Aledobud, can you elaborate on this, and particularly which cover? I'm curious because there are no toggle switches on my NX4510 HST. Rather rocker switches, and those are on the dash, the right side cab C-post cover, and the right-side fender cover. I know EricTheOracle (NX6010 HST Cab) has reported that the little ears on the individual switches that snap into the covers are fairly brittle and can snap off if you're not super careful. Is that what you mean?

All those switches on our (cab models )that are on the C pillar are in a box looking panel with a plastic cover protecting them. That is what he is referring to. I am guessing that the DK's are the same

ALso, the NX doesn't come standard with the bells and whistles that the DK did and it is a lighter tractor (weight).

An open station DK45SE HST weighs 3,924 lbs. With a cab it weighs 4365 pounds.

An open station NX4510 HST weights 3,989 lbs. With a cab, the NX4510 HST is said to weigh 4314 pounds.

The NX series tractor comes standard with a floor mat and the foam sound damper under the floor mat.

I had similar concerns with the electronics on the NX. For me the location was awkward and I was sure to break that cover. I decided that I did not need or want all the fancy electronic controls like anti stall and rev matching etc (they may have alot of value for others but I just say them as something else to malfuction in the future). If you need or want all the bells and whistles the NX series appears to be a great value. I ended up going with the other orange mostly because of dealer support but also because I had more confidence in the Kubota tier4 DPF system.
Edit: shoot! I just realized this was in the Kioti Buying forum.. Sorry to but into the wrong club.

I adapted and overcame Kioti's cheap, prone-to-break-because-you-took-it-apart electrical switches.
