Diff lock engagement timing?

Its saved me on more than one occassion but ive only used it when completely stuck and then i wait until the wheels stop spinning before i step on it.

I ain't claiming any 1st hand knowledge, but the guy who delivered my B2920 said the two things which a newbie tractor owner should look out for is keeping the radiator pre-screen clean and not engaging the rear diff locker while moving. Understanding that the dogs need to line up to engage, I took his advice to mean you shouldn't engage the locker with a lot of wheel speed or when the drivetrain under load. Having said that, I just stop to push the locker pedal.

90+% of the time I have to 'move' the wheel to engage. I have to use my differential lock every time I am on the tractor.
