Diesel Z-turn

Anyone know of a diesel Z-turn in a 44" cut ? With gas prices as high as they are (and climbing) , I am looking for this size in a diesel. I know diesel is expensive too but the "mileage" is a whole lot better , not to mention durability and longevity. I need the small width due to many trees we need to cut between.

Grasshopper makes a 52" model, it is a Kubota motor. I have the 322D with a 61" deck and it has preformed very well.

Walker makes a Kubota powered front deck mower with a wide selection of decks from 36" to 74".

Might check them out. Good mowers, but not cheap.

You will never get your $ worth out of the diesel. I won't save you that much in fuel prices, cost you about $2000.00 off the top...and you have to understand that at about 2000-2500 hours the machine will be failing and the motor will just be getting broke in. You will end up replacing spindle, wheel motors, etc. etc. etc. before that motor blinks. Diesel lawn mowers just aren't worth the investment, have seen the down side of them all too often.

My neighbor and I have similar size lawns. He has a gas Zero Turn. I have a diesel front mount. It takes just over one gallon to cut my lawn. He uses over 5 gallons. With all the rain we have gotten this year, grass is cut every 5 days. With gas over $3.00 a gallon he is spending at least $12 more for fuel each week. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif For the home owner it will take a few years to see the difference. But at current prices and having to cut every 5 days I should save over $350 a year.

I have to modify my statement above. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif Talked to my neighbor this morning. He is buying a 5 gallon can of gas each week. His actual fuel consumption per cutting is closer to 3 gallons. Still a savings of $175 per year. A little over 10 years to equal out the added cost of a diesel mower.

If your able to purchase farm diesel then it makes sense to have more diesel powered equipment than gas powered.

Thanks everyone for your thought and opinions. I still would like a diesel but I don't think anyone makes a small deck one .
Just my personal preference for diesel.
Anyone here have any experience with a Cub Cadet Residential model Z-Turn? Seem reasonably priced ($2500). Durability? Dependability?
