Diesel vs gas

let me take a stab at this one, govt wanted to control us with gasoline/diesel so now they are going to FORCE us into their control by what gets manufactured and will work with JD to make it happen..............just fyi, they already know so much about what/where we are planting and animals we have next they will know where we are driving our cars and soon to control traffic patterns by know what cars are going where as they will all be connected 5G - not only that they will be dictating who drives and how fast you go in the process and navigation will be performed w/out a drive, they are already testing uber drones for moving people around ie drone taxi's - in don't think a little conversation around gas/diesel will mount to much and I do agree that diesel/electric power is undeniably powerful and efficient - I wonder why they don't use gassers to run the electric motors..........here we go, back to that gas/diesel debate again lol!!!

and the govt wonders why we buy up old stuff - ammo - and stockpile things - I have someone controlling my life his name is GOD and he is the best there will ever be

As of 2018 the federal government is actually bigger than God now.

Ultimately, I just wanted a diesel. Didn't need it, just wanted it. No actual facts will change that decision!

No religion or politics or the thread will be closed... Just a reminder.

Please continue with the gas vs diesel discussion. Thanks.

Heck if you want an electric little tractor, just go get an old GE elect trac or in the last issue of Farm Show there is a conversion to make yours electric including individual electric motors for the mowing deck blades.
I like diesel

Diesels are OK. I think a lot of what makes them good is simply that most all diesels were designed from the start as commercial duty engines.

There are gasoline engines that are built as well as diesel engines. In other words, the commercial gas engines. You see these in some of the old tractors, Old Masseys, Fords, and I.H. to name a few. They had tremendous torque at all RPM, and certainly didn't suffer any lack of power.

Not all gasoline engines are that good, but some are real pleasures. Nice to listen to and easy to work on. The only problems I've ever had with the old JD gasser are problems with today's gasoline - not the way the motor works. And at over 12,000 hours all the motor clearances were within spec.

Gasoline burns a lot quicker than diesel. and also the onset of the burn - the ignition timing & carburetion - are so easy to vary in a gasoline engine. That makes it friendly to the mechanic and for the designer it is possible to design an engine that revs up and still has good torque. That old JD 2 cylinder pulls real strong down around 300 RPM.
And gassers are a quiet engine. That's nice, too.

Engines built today are soooooo much easier to tune than the ones built 30 years ago. Gas or diesel.
