HHO is the same thing so why wouldn't they ask the same thing?

They do NOT ask since HHO is used for fuel to heat home for , since before my time. That is why they have HHO tanks in common sizes and even people to cert these things..

I have had my 300 gallon Diesel Tank inside my barn for the last 6 years. No issues. My Co-Op has a truck with plenty of hose to come in and fill it up. Only thing I was required to do was run a ground wire from the steel frame of the tank to a grounding rod outside. This was a requirement of the Co-Op but no drive has ever even taken a look at it or asked to see where its grounded.

I do add anti-fungal and anti-gel when they come fill it up but that is another subject.

I have added Stanadyne Performance diesel fuel treatment for the past 15 or so years when my tank is filled and I have never had a fuel or injector issue. I guess I would have 3500 hours combined and have never even had an injector out. Not sure if all additives are the same but my diesel guy suggested it to me.

Actually that is a very good subject. Are you prone to water and algae or doing as preventative maintenance?

I just do it as preventive maint. We use Biobor JR in our airplane and it only takes 2 oz to treat my 300 gallon tank so I just take a little home in a cup and pour it in once a year or so. As for the anit-gel I just buy the jug of Howse at my Rural King and pour it in the tank prior to them filling it. Never had a single issue.

I had one last question to go along with this....what is this filter? Do I need to change it, drain it and clean it, or leave it alone? If I need a new element where is a good place? Thanks!

Fiuel filter with water trap. I would clean up the filter bowl so you can see any trapped water in it. TSC has several filter elements that may fit your filter housing. I would opt for a water absorbing filter element when replacing the filter element in this one. It looks like it hasnt been changed or cleaned in a good while.

The photo is not real clear but is the filter hooked in-line with the pump hose so the fuel runs through the filter on the way out? I would presume it does but the picture is difficult to see.

Yes 6dogs, it goes from tank to turn on value, to the filter, then into the hose.

I have never cleaned it...I will do so and pull the filter element. It took me 3 years to use all the diesel and now I am going to sand and paint the rust spots on the exterior and move it inside the blue barn before having it filled.

Any conditioning I should do for the interior of the tank? I read on here that they most often corrode from the inside out. Thanks much.

Here is what I did.

I turned the tank upside down with my loader and emptied it out. Then I put the wand on the end of my shop vac --might have made an PCV extension--and vacumned the inside out. Blew compressed air in with a wand too. I painted the outside with Rustoleum aluminum paint. Don't bother sanding if you use that paint--it's like water.
For the pump setup, I used two filters in series --one is a waterblock and the other a regular filter. It MIGHT be overkill but I have seen what one grain of crap can do. I run a vented cap, have a fuel meter and call it good. My 150 tank in the barn is on rollers and I have a static wire hose.

I don't figure anyone needs a photo but if so I can post tomorrow.
