On the drives back home after work in the summer when the light was still out, there was a fence line that had "infowars. com," Hand painted on it. It must have been a bit of work to do that. I looked in the site, and there was nothing there that could be substantiated, it was all pandering to fears and conspiracies. A year went by, and I wondered if in this subdivision along the freeway that the HOA would allow that. Cause everyone on the back yard road side would have had that opportunity to paint on the road faceing fence. And a few other people were painting on their own counter message signage next to the Info sign. For awhile, these messages spread out all along the fences in a confusing line of bill boards.
It was fun to watch as you could determine each fence owner's political affiliation. One day all the signage is painted over. And had done the paint over differently. So the HOA had set in force some rule.

The internet was a beautiful thing for ten years. When the content creators were critical thinking persons thinking that they were reaching other critical thinking persons. Then it was monetized, and quickly went to self interested POO, disinformation and Corp Shilling. And people just bought into it.

Several times over the 20 something years I've been here, I've posted things that I thought were accurate. People pointed out to me that they were not and why. I researched and acknowledged that I was incorrect and thanked them for pointing it out to me.

Inaccurate information has to be pointed out, because if it's repeated enough, people start to believe it. You can't just let it lay there and hope people figure out it's crap on their own. Maybe it's my 30 years of working at a family owned newspaper, or maybe my parents just taught me to be truthful. I think it's a combination of both.

Why would anyone want their name associated with lies and inaccuracies? That's an agenda I do not understand, and won't put up with, and will call it out any time I see it.

I don't go around mis-quoting people repeatedly just to try and get a rise out of them or make them look bad in my eyes to justify my actions, or hope that if I spread enough crap around a thread it'll get moved to the front porch so I can hide behind closed doors and keep spreading the falsehoods.

Stand out here in the public, state your case based on fact, acknowledge your mistakes if you make them, and move along with more knowledge in your toolbox.
Just like the lies told a million times over about Trump-Russia collusion that influenced an entire 4 year presidency and very likely the 2020 election.

You’ve said inaccurate things, too. Nobody’s perfect.
Have never seen you admit to it, though. Maybe I missed it.
Your idea of “factually accurate” isnt 100% right, either. IMO, your just sore because you were wrong about the 13 cents in gas price increases and I pointed it out. Now its a mission for you to find something I said incorrect and you wont let it go.

So the article I posted has false information in it, but there’s TRUE information in the article, too. The fact is, that inflation is being caused by printing of money.

You made your point, multiple times.
Now let it go.

We all do that, sometime or another...
Not saying it's a good thing

Well of course. I copied and pasted an article showing not only the increases that Moss says arent true, but theres also other information in that article that IS true, too. Gas IS up over 51% (now almost 100%). Beef IS up over 20%. Why take down an article that has information both accurate and some inaccurate. Read the article and YOU decide. What are we going to have here now a “Ministry of Truth”? :ROFLMAO:

We all know the US economy is being destroyed mostly because of extreme fuel price inflation and nothing from our leadership is being done about it. The article points that out.

It’s frustrating watching good people suffer and some here just defend it like its no big deal.

Kinda like all these people posting saying that oil production is declining, when in fact it is at record levels. Agenda? Keep repeating BS enough and people will believe it’s true.
Like climate change/global warming:)

To fuel: unless there is an anomaly between source and destination, sharply rising prices indicate demand is up vs supply. The literal fact that production is up doesn't matter unless it is relative to demand. If your administration is passionately and openly committed to the extension of your industry, you are unlikely to commit resources to increasing production to meet demand.

The exxon guys will be fine don't worry, it is the folks that have a little less discretionary income to absorb the price fluctuation that will feel the sting.
On the bright side, we will all be better off after the forced migration away from fossil fuel, right?

You and Moss are correct, bad info should be owned and corrected. Lies repeated passionately and frequently do sadly become fact.

Best,

ed

What you posted about 3-4 times over the past year about what I said regarding the 13 cent comments last year were 100% false. You're purposely mis-quoting me again and again to try to make me look bad. You keep repeating it. Why?

The article you linked to regarding 80% of the money in circulation being printed in the last 2 years is 100% false. The website you got it from is a libertarian conspiracy site known for spewing garbage. When pointed out to you, and given the correct information, you had the opportunity to correct your statements, yet choose not to. Why?

I won't let it go every time you post something that's not true. I'll point it out every time.

I don't think anyone thinks it's "no big deal"...it is...
This country is, IMHO, what we used to (in the Navy) refer as "we're in a world of ****"...and we are
Again, IMHO, our leadership is pretty useless and has no clue what to do

I mentioned you in another post. You are correct, a person should be able to defend their position. It is frustrating when folks on my side of the fence distort facts, it makes it much harder for me to sneak in my unsubstantiated opinions:)

Look at the rest of the article. It has a lot of truth in it, too.
I’ve seen as much BS on this website as anywhere. One article has one thing in it you point out as wrong. OK, but many points are right, too.
