Wind chill & the effect of air moveing past an object and removing heat?? Radiator & fan to cool engine coolant. Block the air flow and the coolant becomes warmer!

Diesel fuel and winter treatment? Every area will their own specifications and methods some of which are regulated by standards set.

Don’t block the airflow. Just take the fan blades off and see how long it takes to overheat. Even the fan shroud makes a big difference.

I used to drive an 82 propane Malibu. I took the fan off all winter. Carried it along with a wrench in case I got stuck in traffic in warmer weather, but never needed it. I think they used a bit of coolant heat to vaporize the propane.
