If given the chance, how many of the 600,000 dead in the US would take the vaccine?

Since probably 99 % of those that died, did so because they had other underlying conditions, and were going to die shortly anyways, I would guess very few. Once you reach a certain state of health, and are barely breathing, not really living, is it such a bad thing that death is the answer ? Have you visited any old folks retirement homes lately ? I have, and a lot of those folks aren,t really living, they are just barely existing, so the homes can keep charging ridiculous rates for keeping them breathing.

I expect it would have mirrored the numbers actually getting vaccinated now the vaccine is available. Death by Covid-19 is a rough way to go.

While many are volunteering to 'test' the vaccines as many are volunteering to host new variants. No greater proof that what you won't know can't hurt you.

In the news this morning, the EU states are going to allow entry by Americans with a vaccination certificate. They are working on a digital database, but it won't be ready by June. I have not heard about Canada, but expect something similar.

Boy that would be a lapse of security if you were able to get aboard without a passport.

My worst thing was going to Spain for work back in 1988z. Flew from STL to JFK for the flight to Spain. Waiting in line at JFK to get a boarding pass and the lady asks a guy a few folks ahead in line “May I see your passport”. I suddenly realize “uh oh” as I forgot mine. Horrible feeling.

I had to call my wife and she FedEx’d it the next day. Wasted 24 hours.

IMO the most obnoxious people are the ones that continue clamoring for everyone that hasn't already gotten it to get it...and making like they are inferior in some way for not participating...
...I hate to tell those (type of) people that un-vaccinated lives matter as much as theirs...

IMO the biggest selling point and motivating factor of the vaccines is that all are proven (in the trials, and to date) effective in preventing severe case symptoms and hospitalization etc...most people are /were not afraid of a mild case with little or no symptoms...pandemic or no pandemic

BTW...The jab did not make me cranky...in fact the only side effect was a tender arm and that's expected anytime after a hypodermic needle punctures muscle tissue...

Off topic, but my most interesting security experience was in an airport in Germany. The next to last security checkpoint was to get into the seating area before getting on the plane. The guy working security for that area was not interested in viewing any security identification or paperwork. He would simply talk to people.

I am generally a fairly stoic and patient person, and I'm not sure if he thought I was suspicious, or if he just had trouble getting a read on me, but he talked to me FOREVER! He was trying to discuss the Dallas Cowboys and all sorts of crazy things with me. He didn't seem to be the least bit concerned about the line of people behind me.

I finally unconsciously let out a sigh. He immediately stopped talking mid-sentence, and he sent me through. I guess I finally displayed the proper form of impatience.

That's why it was a nightmare. Unprepared is a recurring theme in dreams. For years after I graduated I had dreams about showing up for a final without having studied. Women have dreams about showing up somewhere naked. I haven't heard of any Covid nightmares, but I bet people are having them.

Unfortunately, a lot of those old folks in homes don,t have a clue, who they are, or where they are. I wouldn,t call that living. We don,t let our pets suffer as much as some of these old folks are. If I ever get to that stage, I would rather be dead.

I got the J&J vaccine and got every side effect, including hives covering my body. But after that, no issues at all.

Here is a great video by doc Mike Hansen on all the ways people can die from covid 19. Its never simple diagnosing when multiple systems fail and you die, but its root cause is still by C-19. No conspiracies here.

I'm one month past being fully vaxed and feeling great. Just like everyone here, I would like covid behind us and get back to LIFE. It will be quite a while before we do group events, especially maskless, but we survived without getting the virus....so far.

True, but i've never had an allergic reaction to anything in my life, i don't even get poison ivy. It was unlike anything I've ever had. And it didn't appear until 7 days after the vaccine, around 1pm, while i was sitting in my office working, like i do all day every day. Fortunately benedryl made it completely disappear within 20 minutes. Soon as the benedryl wore off, it would come back, so take another benedryl. That lasted for a solid 7 days, around the clock.
