Did the 4020 ever come in 4wd?

The engine should have a breather tube running down the side of the engine at the rear (engine/transmission mate line or very close to it), with the tractor warmed up fully check to see how much smoke your getting there.

You may want to have a mechanic check it out, but the good thing is this engine is wet sleeved and can easily be rebuilt. The injector pump can be rebuilt also. A good mechanic should be able to give you some idea of the cost to get everything in good working order, you need to know this.

My only concern is the seller saying he used it only to pull the spreader and is insinuating a very light load for this tractor, somehow I doubt this but that doesn't mean it is not a good tractor. My prices for the 4020 above may seem high but I was considering buying for $10,000 and a $5000 budget to restore it to excellent condition.

There was a 4020 with front wheel assist on ebay a few months ago. It was the only one I have ever seen for sale and up until then I did not know they even made them. Supposedly all original ect. asking price was around 50 grand. I don't think it ever made reserve in the auctions.

He ran that tractor several times for $50K then relisted again with a BIN price of $35K if I remember correctly. I don't think it ever sold on ebay. The first one I ever saw came up about 3-4 years ago on ebay, I can't recall the exact selling price but it was under $20,000. I work with probably 15 different 4020 owners and printed that auction and posted it at work because there were so many of them that didn't believe me that it was a factory option.
