So, I was looking at the throttle linkage for a problem with the tractor not going to idle. I disconnected the 4 pin connector from the key switch and noticed some corrosion which may have been causing the blowing starter fuse issue. I cleaned the key side with a wire brush then did the same to the harness-side, forgetting to disconnect the battery. Well, tiny little sparks at the power-relay block and now it won't start or turn. Brilliant.

So my question is - did I just blow the relays or something else major? No fuses are bad.

I don't know your machine, I'd get my hands on the schematics. Start tracing with a volt meter and continuity meter and see where it went wrong.

In theory a fuse or the like should've gone.

This could easily happen to anyone.

I'm in agreement with Joel. I think you need to check your fuses with a voltmeter set to ohms. I'd bet you will find a blown fuse. If you don't find a blown fuse in the fuse block, look at the main fuse (30 amp?) down near the starter.

Thanks for the replies everyone. It looks like it fixed itself. I took all the fuses and relays out and put them back it. Perhaps it the panic of it all I did not have the brake on or something when I tried to start it after this happened. Just glad it was not more painful.
