did murray go bankrupt?

what does this mean for murray owners?

is someone going to buy them out.. or are parts going to dry up?

any one else dealing in the economy rider market... afaik they were the least expensive rider you could get... usually selling at places like walmart for 800$.. etc.

Don't own a Murray (never have), but I do own an economy mower--a 2005 42" Huskee with hydrostatic tranny and 18 hp B&S from TSC. No problems so far in the 6th season. Paid $899 for it.

MTD has that $800 market now. Although, it is more like $895. Marketed under a few different "names" such as Yardmachine, etc. Even Sears sells that basic MTD model for around $849-$895. TSC as well.

ASAIK, Murray is still elsewhere in the world, but have left the North American market. If I remember correctly, they sold their manufacturing facility(s) to someone else. Deere maybe? hmmmm.... Foggy on that.

I have a Murray Lawn tractor and it's now 8 yrs. old and runs great...I sure hope someone buys them out of BK.

Yeah, I just googled " Murray mower bankruptcy and it looks like in 205 they declared bankruptcy and were bought out by Briggs & Statton...Whew !
