Did a little hay last week ...

Between the grasshoppers and the extreme heat ... 102 degrees here today and expected to continue through the week ... we decided to cut early or there won't be anything left in a week....cut 40 acres today of bahia and bermuda, will cut another 40 tomorrow and 30 acres on Thursday ... then thats it ... if it doesn't rain.

Its always nice to see other equipment that folks use ... thats pretty good 45 rolls on 15 acres.

(pictures isnt of exact cutter) They have a SMI drum cutter,its cut is only around 5ft. Its good for small fields but even only 15acres it takes him a very long time,he asked me the other day what was the name of the cutter I got and how my tractor handled it so im thinking he's gonna go shopping.

Im trying to figure out other than to redo my pasture,what I can do to make my ride smoother. I been thinking about going to the same size tires as the Kubota 8540/9540 run on the front,and put them on my two tractors. The ones they come with are skinnys,do you think that will help? Will it mess with the frontend on them? I really dont wonna go taller just wider....

Well the bigger the tractor, the wider the wheels and the longer the wheel base the better the ride ... also I've found remove the FEL and drop the tire pressure that helps.

We've about finished close to 130 acres ... tomorrow I'll square bale the last 40 ... really nice bermuda and bahia.

the baler man should be finishing up our hay today.last time i talked to him he was at 191 round bales.so i hope he made another 50 bales to finish out the hay.called a buddy the other day an sold him 60 bales.so im hoping he made that meny today.

How many total did you end up with? Always nice to have it done!!
