has anyone seen where an end user can buy computer diagnostic equipment for john deere. have 10 5325 tractors that are starting to be headache with all the electronic gadgets and it is big bucks to get service out to field all the time

Got a buddy that bought one for his Ford PU. Have you done an Internet search for after-market computer diagnostic equipment?

I'm sure that there would be lot's of interest here if you track something down!!!

Is there an OBD II port or something similar to plug in the diagnostic equipment? I'm interested too, because I have a 5225 and am concerned that someday I'll need it.

I have talked with a few of the local dealers and they have told me that the system that deere uses is thier own and as of right now unless you are a dealer there is no access into the computer. I can't wait for these smart assed computer geeks to crack the code and sell thier hacking abilities.

The use of computer controls to manage the fuel injector pump and the turbo boost pressure is another whole "arena" of discussion for tractor owner's.

But, without the major manufacturers approval or the expiration of the copyright patent - it will take some time - 'cause a legion of lawyers awaits the first hacker that tweaks the first line of code!

Don't have the computer diagnostic equipment , but got just about every Tech manual on CD from the 650 tractor to the 5X25 series up to '05 & lawn tractors, hand held equipment and some pto/hydraulic implements.
