One of the coils died on my 26hp Kohler twin. Part no longer available, had to purchase the MDI conversion kit.
Well I did the wiring mod, installed the coils. The engine started, ran for about 5 seconds. Then heard a loud BANG
and motor died. Could not restart it.
Undid the wiring mod and reinstalled the original (good) coil and motor runs fine, on 1 cylinder. So motor is ok.
I'm fairly certain those new coils are blown.
Anyone have experience with this MDI conversion? Any ideas?
