Deutz vs SAME vs SDF?

Hi. I can't understand the difference between deutz, same and sdf? there are deutz tractors with deutz, same and sdf engines, there same tractors with deutz, same and sdf engines, who make this SDF engines? are they more like deutz? or more like same? are there similarities between same and deutz engines? can someone explain ?

They have used "parts" back and forth, but they are mostly SAME and are good tractors.

The ONLY similarities between the Deutz and SAME air/oil cooled diesels are, they both are air/oil cooled and they are both diesels!

Both are excellent diesel engines.

The SDF group includes SAME, Deutz, Lamborghini and Hurlimann tractors.

All the tractors made around the year 1999 and after, are pretty much the same across these brands with just a color change and maybe some minor changes. That's why you'll find a lot of similarities.

thanks for replying, i was confused about the new water cooled engines, i have seen some smaller new deutz tractors using SAME 3.0L engine and SDF 3.0L engine, so are they referring to the same engine? or they are totally different engines?

SDF is Same Deutz Fahr.

I imagine it is the same engine, but we don't see a lot of them down here.

Don't pass by the SL&H insignia cast in every part of the Deutz Far tractors that come from that line.
Sub 50 HP are and produced in India IIRC. Now all Under the D-F brand Agro-Kid, Solaris, etc.

Dang, I looked on line for an image of the SL&H logo and did not find one.

Oh Well.

If you were confused when starting this thread I imagine you are even more confused now !

Back in the 70-80-90’s there were lots of Deutz tractors sold in my area and most of them are still being used but these days there doesn’t seem to be many new Deutz tractors in my area and that’s probably mostly because the local dealer that used to sell them quit selling them but they still service a lot of Deutz tractors including complete overhauls . What's your definition of "small" tractors? Everyone that I've seen, if it said SLH on it, it was a SAME SLH diesel, if it had Deutz on it, it was basically a SAME, with a Deutz diesel.

And no, they are not the same design diesel. (other than they are both air/oil cooled)

The Kid is a compact tractor, use to be built in Poland.

From there on up, they are farm tractors and were built by SLH, aka SAME.
