I was just to the Deutz shop, and they told me that the very reliable, rugged, and compact Deutz oil cooled engines could not comply with emissions anymore, so now this line of engines are being made water cooled. Not nearly as compact of a unit anymore. So, the 2011 series oil cooled engines are highly sought after right now by the retailers, because you won稚 be able to get them anymore.

Yes this has been coming for some time. In addition, they are technically no longer legal for large farms in California. You have to repower/replace the tractor. Small farms have an exemption from the repower/replace rule for the moment.

This situation is probably giving the engineer at Power Trac something to redesign. I'm curious as to what diesel engine Power Trac is going to use and if they are gonna need to make the tub larger? It's a shame, really. They have been using these oil cooled Deutz for quite a few years now.

I was down at Tazewell today and got to see Kristie, Kristy, Keith, and Terry. I was saying about the oil cooled Deutz models not being made anymore, and they said that they stocked up on as many of them as they could when they heard the bad news.
