Re: Deutz-Fahr Agrokid 45 2005 Running Hot

Greetings from Greece! I have this same tractor as Belvedere and I am having the exact same problem as him on overheating after some work. Does anyone know if and how Belvedere fixed this problem.
Your reply is highly appreciated. Thanks

Rereading the posts by Belvedere, it is aparent that a dust clogged radiator was contributing to his over heating problem.

That blow through, multi-row radiator invites collection of dirt. I have a Hurlimann 435, (similar tractor) I was giving it a once over only yesterday. I was suprised at the amount of dust that came billowing out of the radiator fins when being blown by high pressure air. And I live in a very un-dusty forest region. I must have spent 15 minutes blowing first one way, then the other.

Clean your radiator with air or spray water!

Cheers

I have a 2008 Deutz-Fahr Agrokid 210 DT Euro III that also runs hot. With the air temp at 30°C, I can only work for about 30 minutes (with a flail mower and the driveshaft at 540rpm) before the temp gauge enters the yellow zone. Radiator access for blowing is very poor and the battery appears to obstruct much of the fan's draught. Radiator produces little dust when blown with compressed air jet. I tried moderately high pressure water jet, but quickly discovered that the manual is correct when it says _not_ to do this. The radiator fins are so thin that they quickly bend this way and that. Fan belt tension is correct and thermostats are new, despite just 350 hours on the clock. Does anyone have any ideas?

Add an oil cooler I suppose. That would protect the engine a bit.

The other thing is to actually measure the coolant temperature when the gauge is in the yellow. Those gauges and senders are nothing special on any tractor.

What is "too hot? 105C ? 110C ?

You could loosen the radiator fill cap and see when it boils over, Compared to the gauge. The anti freeze mix has a lot to do with the ultimate temps.
