Dettson Snowblower?

There is a Dettson 1085 snowblower for sale near by. I'm guessing that's 85 inches wide but I haven't had a chance to go see it yet. Looks like a good price. Will it work with my 35 hp tractor? Or is the blower too big?

Just a guess as I do not have a snowblower, but I would think you could handle it on your Branson. You might have to go slow and take smaller bites but I think you could get it done. I am sure type of snow would be a factor as well.

it would work fine. with snowblowers, you have to constantly adjust the travel speed and side of the bite anyway no matter what the blower size or hp is. you may just need to adjust a little more often.

I don't know how much snow you get or the condition of the snow but for my area there isn't a chance I would put an 85" wide blower on a tractor with only 35 hp at the engine and 29 hp at the pto. Double the hp and you would probably be ok for most snow conditions.

looking at the pics on craigslist- it doesn't look 85 inches wide due to the ratio of height to width- but since it is it looks dang tall- probably a big fan
certainly priced so you could take a flyer
