Dethatching the lawn

Hello everyone,
Does anybody make a big tow behind dethatchers like they make for lawn tractors? I'm tempted to buy two lawn tractor versions and bolt them together to do a 6' swipe.

Chris, I don't know about pull types but bushhog, and woods (Gill) to name a couple make 6' and larger aerators.

Do these units remove the underlying thatch or simply put holes it it to let the rain seep in?

I have some old fields that I mow like the lawn. The underlying thatch is very heavy and I would like to get it out and reseed.

I suppose I could rent a big overseeder that will dethatch and seed but I'd like to own a unit myself.

Chris,it might take alot of extra weight added to aerator but the 3pt. hitch models I told you about will dethatch as well as aerate. You should make at least two passes in different directions for best results, budinohio.
