I've got a one year old TC34. The rubber funnel/cup drain thing around the filler neck for the gas tank is splitting and crumbling. I had the original replaced after about 6 months, and now the replacement is doing the same thing. The tractor sits inside and I've never spilled diesel on it. All I can figure is that they are made of junk. Has anyone else experienced this and/or came to a satisfactory solution? thanks

Yikes... I don't suppose the battery is anywhere near it on that model is it??

The same part on my 2002 7610s is in great shape.. no signs of deteroriation.

good luck.. keep us posted on what you find.

I have the same year on the tc33. Noticed the same problem after 50 hour service. Apparently not made to stand up to the ozone. Dealer states "rubber ozone damage not covered under bumper to bumper 2 year warrenty". They replaced it anyway along with the rubber bumpers from the backhoe, for customer satisfaction. Mine too was kept in out of the sun,and never spilled on. The backhoe had sat on dealers lot for at least a year, the tractor for 5 months.

My TC34DA is doing the same as yours.

Ozone is a low altitude air pollutant typical of urban areas or other places where there is a lot of exhaust and also a lot of sunshine. Temperature inversions or other atmospheric conditions that cause the air to stagnate will allow ozone to accumulate to significant levels over relatively large areas but it will dissipate when the air moves around some.

If it's caused by ozone you may or may not have an issue, depending on where you live and how clean your air is. Upstate New York probably catches air from the coal burning power plants and such all along the Ohio River valley.

I bought my TC33DA new, in December of 2005, with the knowledge that it had sat on the lot for a year. When the filler cup turned to trash, with only 50 hours on the clock, I just figured it was one of the "perks" you get when buying a unit that already had a sun tan;..... er a sun blue??

I doubt it... My tractor, a 2001 7610s obviously say lots of sun.. it's paint is a good bit faded.. fuel cup is just fine.. like the day i bought it..

Sorry to hear about the cup issue. My TC24 has spent most of it's 4 years in and out of weather. The plastic has greyed, but it's still there and solid. Sounds like the changed the plastic or possibly manufacturer.

I have a Two year old TC33DA with 132 hours. My filler cup is also cracked, splitting and crumbling. It no longer diverts the spilled fuel to the drain tube.
