BX 2200 with a 60" mmm while mowing, it goes from 3" to 1.5" anti-scalp wheels are really taking a beating. Maybe going to fast /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Not sure I understand what you are asking here, are you saying the deck raises and lowers while cutting?

How even (or uneven) is the area you are
mowing?

Sorry, I mean the cutting height control dial that I set for 3" moves to 1.5 on its own while mowing.

Are you setting the height gauge when the mower is fully raised? If so it should not drop......maybe the linkage is disconnected.
Have you locked the 3ph in the full upright position?

I've had this happen many times as well. My yard is pretty bumpy, and if I get going too fast the deck gets bouncing around enough to cause the height control dial to change. What I do now, is tighten the dial that controls how fast the deck/3point to drop. This way, if things start bouncing around too much and the height control dial changes, the deck won't drop.

Also, make sure you have the anti-scalp rollers set high enough. You might want to raise them one more notch than your current setting.

Do you mow in rabbit or turtle?
My deck used to slam all over the place, I just slowed down a bit. Another option would be to dedicate some time to smoothing out the yard. But I'm too lazy (so far) for that.
