Deluxe seat safety switch

My new to me tractor has (i believe) the Deluxe seat. It's a suspension seat, and has the knob on the front, which seems to control how the seat feels (though i haven't messed with it much). The seat is extremely comfortable. When i bought the machine, the slider was stuck. So, i raised the seat, added some lubrication, and used a rubber mallet to get the seat moving. The slider works normally now. I somehow knocked the seat safety switch loose, without seeing how it was installed. I'm not sure it was in right to begin with.

Needless to say, i can't figure out how it goes back. It's a black button, with a round grey piece of plastic that's supposed to clip in somewhere. some of the tabs are broken.

It appears that it fits into the square hole in the frame of the seat, but i can't understand how. Also, the seat is fairly heavy, and seems to push the button on it's own when i put the switch where i think it goes.

I removed the switch, and put in a jumper. But, i think it would be good to get it functioning normally.

Anyone have a photo of the switch installed? Any advice?

There are often 2 switches. One to see the seat is down (or up) and one to make sure there is someone in the seat.
The one you're talking about is likely the seat up/down switch, so your comment about the seat's weight depressing it is right on.

I know nothing of your specific machine though.

Interesting. I didn't think of that.

This one functions as follows:
- When plugged in, but not depressed, the tractor will run as normal. But when you step on the hydro pedal, the engine dies (not completely, if you let off). I like the idea of being off the seat, and not being able to use the hydro. Seems safe to me.

Your description sounds just like mine. I believe mine to be the deluxe seat.

Thank you for the photos!!! I think mine's a little different. The grey switch looks identical, buy my seat seems different. I'll try to get a photo of mine and post it. I wonder if the seat has been changed out.

So, i checked my seat. It looks like someone probably replaced the upper seat portion with a slightly different seat. Not sure what it is. Seems to bolt on the same. But there is no hole for the switch. So, i might be SOL and have to leave it jumped...
