Delayed reaction

When using my hoe yesterday, on almost or all controls I was getting a delayed response, called the dealer and they said may need to change hyd filter. Know I need to and will but why was my FEL working fine if thats the problem? Thanks for any input! Aaron

Post more detailed info about tractor and back hoe....

How is the hoe plumbing related to the FEL plumbing?

Check the fluid, see if it is foamy and/or milky looking. I suspect either a return/suction side leak or water in the fluid.

Few more details may help also, is this on a tractor? If so, then is it powered from the tractor or have it's own separate system (like a PTO pump)?
