Deere\'s on the lose....

Whoops - supposed to be loose not lose!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I have the distinct pleasure of driving between Sharpsburg, MD and Baltimore, MD every day on my commute to work. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Lately, I have been seeing lots of new JD big iron (8xxx, 9xxx) equipment being hauled eastward on I-70. This morning I saw at least 5 tractor-trailers loaded with JDs and 2 loaded with NH combines. I think that most of this equipment is on it's way as exports. I have also seen quite a few big yellow New Holland combines going the same way.

If they are not exports, then a lot of Eastern shore farmers are upgrading their equipment. If they are exports, JD is helping offset the trade deficit.

I just find this very interesting and thought that I would share it with other tractor nuts. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Re: Deere\'s on the lose....

Terry, if indeed they are exports, it would be really interesting to know where they are going. I think most stuff leaving for Central and South America leave by ports on the southern states. They must be trans-Atlantic bound. ...hmm. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Re: Deere\'s on the lose....

Terry,

Interesting that you bring this up. I see Case, JD, Cat, and MF
heavy equipment moving east and west on I40 almost every
day. I never thought about the equipment being exported or
imported. Yesterday I followed a new JD 220(???) execavator
on my way home. Sure would like to use it for a few days! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm seeing BIG equipment being moved JD 8000/9000 tractors,
MFs and Case equipment that looks as big, combines, and the
big sprayers. I see Cat backhoes being transported pretty
often. Today I saw a semi go by with Taylor outdoor wood
stoves. Never seen that one before.

Re: Deere\'s on the lose....

Last Wednesday I drove up to the Pittsburgh, PA. area. I also noticed quite a few large pieces of equipment being moved, but most of it was west bound. Either way, I thought it was kind of odd seeing so much brand new equipment on the move.

Dummy,

Maybe its a sign the economy is improving. This morning I saw
a big work site dump truck. The kind that is not road legal.
