Deere X530
I've got another question regarding my X530, but is probably relevant to most of the Deere lawn tractors.

I've recently noticed that when I engage the mower blades, I hear a screech or squeal noise for a split second. It only happens as soon as the mower PTO is engaged, and then it goes away. I can't tell if it's the belt slipping, or the clutch.

Does anyone else experience this noise when engaging the PTO? Any ideas what the problem may be, or is this just more annoying than anything.

Thanks again!

Perfectly normal. It is the belt. The faster the engine is running when you engage the blades the more likely you are to hear a slight screech. My 26-year old 175 Hydro and 3-week old X500 do the same thing. :)

I'll add my X300R does the same thing.

I think about every lawn tractor that has a electric PTO will do that.
