Deere Mower Deck on Front End Loader

SS

Thanks for the links. The Trailblazer attachment is a front mounted brush hog and also requires an adequate oil pump to power it.

My concept is something that can be used for finish mowing with a gas engine. For cutting grass, the range of adjustment would not be required.

Something more like a front mount Grasshopper deck but with a gas engine and mounted on a SSQA.

Don,

Yeah, it still requires a power pack hydro pump on back. I was interested because it sounded like they were coming up with a more economical power pack set up than what was previously out there. And it looked (from memory) like they had the SCUT/CUT market in mind. I haven't really kept up with it since though. I was more interested in the power pack as a separate unit, to maybe power a FEL mounted hydro snow blower off of.

This thread reminded me of this setup I saw the other day.

Front 3 pt linkage + front PTO with a finish mower and some sort of collector in the back.

You would just need to make sure the cutting action and clipping dispersal would be correct for the direction of travel.

One would think the market for this would be slim to none considering Deere already makes their front mounted lawn mowers, which would be 100 times faster than mowing with a SCUT and front mounted mower. The turning radius would be terrible.
I知 not sure about you, but I love the ease of use and quickness of my 72 zero turn. A regular lawn tractor would take me 2-3 times as long to mow my place.

I would rather pay $5000 for a front mounted SSQA. One less machine to garage, by mounting on the FEL, changing blades and cleaning the deck would be easy. Plus I have a cab, so A/C, no dust or bugs. ZT can not get under trees like a SSQA mounted unit

Like most things, users have different needs. I mow about 2 acres. If it took me 30 minutes longer, it would be ok to get He advantages above.

For sure, for most situations, I agree. Probably why no one has made one!

I'm thinking the FFM (haha..) would be sweet at my camp, where it's a bit tricky getting to everything, and not a race to get it done. For my 3 acre lawn at my house, no way I'd trade my ZTR for it!
