Never thought I'd see this combination but I'd say it sure does plow snow.
Aroostook County, Maine last week.
I think this is the largest Deere made?

That front blade attachment looks very complex, makes me wonder if it has a vertical tilt adjustment? You would have to move a lot of snow every year to justify the expense of that rig.

Just did a Google Search...found some 2010 models, one with 47 hours on it, $265,000 for the tractor alone...and here I thought paying $22 grand for my JD and attachments was a lot of money.

Yes, where that tractor and snowplow is the snow volume warrants it. My guess is plowing around a few scattered potato sheds and buildings plus plowing snow windbreaks in the fields make it work.
Plus plowing snow is actually a lot of fun in big snow country.

Where I live in Ohio there are dozens of that similar size tractor around--mostly with wheels--and they really make the work of grain farming a lot of acres easier.
It's hard to believe how much this big eqipment costs but it can pull some really wide equipment--and pay for itself.
My friend has one that might be larger and I think it's over 500 HP and holds more than 300 gallons of fuel.
It's 800? cubic inches and only a six cylinder so imagine the size of those pistons. He farms around 2500 acres.
The pioneers of this country lived in a cabin with a "footprint" not appreciably larger than that of these tractors.

Your friend's tractor, 300 gallons of diesel at $4 per gallon (current price here) would cost $1200 per fill up. Lets see now, I am retired, don't drive much at all...in 2010 I spent an actual $540 for gasoline for my truck and car, and $140 for diesel fuel. Filling up that tractor of his would cost almost double what my total fuel expenses were in 2010.

That Grouser blade may have a pitch control on it but the way its set up its a parallel lift arrangement. I worked for an outfit that ran tractors and pans instead of selfpropelled scrapers. Two of them had grouser blades like that and one like the one pictured on a 65 Cat Challenger. They used them in soil conservation projects for roughing in and light dozer work. Also used in stacking and walking in pit silage. They also leased them out to airports for clearind the runways.
