Deere 540 pto spline

I’m building a brush cutter for my skid steer from a 3 point Deere 609 brush cutter. Input shaft turns out to be 21 spline 1 3/8”. All the specs I can find say it’s 540 rpm. My mx6 is also 21 spline 1 3/8”. Was it common for Deere to use that size of input shaft for 540 rpm?

The only location the spline count/rated rpm industry standards comes into play is at the rear of the tractor and front of the implement drive shaft. Any and all other driveline connections are completely at the manufacturers discretion.
