Deere 5055E - help finding some kind of a cab so I don't freeze another winter

I have a JD 5055E and I keep it in the garage (standard 8 foot high door). As I get older I find myself appreciating more protection from the elements, particularly in January when I am clearing snow. The JD factory cab is much too tall (and too expensive) and I am having difficulty finding something for it - which surprises me. Any advice you can offer would be appreciated!

You have one big problem. It' a BIG MACHINE. Those cabs from JD, Curtis Cab and such are all huge.

If your machine was a 3000 Series, your chances are better with all sorts of cab sizes.

??? I have a 5055e and I also have an 8' door. I do not have a cab, but I do have a sun shade and it does not fit in the garage. How are you getting it in the garage even with an 8' high door? The only way I can think of is if you fold the ROPS and that's not going to work with any cab I know of. I think you'd be better off with a separate tractor shed for it.

Doubt you will find any cab tractor that size that will clear an 8 foot door.

I have an expensive Helly Hansen workwear snowsuit and ski goggles. Way cheaper than adding a cab and doesn't devalue the tractor.

I usually just wear a t shirt and light pants under my suit or I get too warm.

Yes heated cab is far nicer, but I haven't got there yet and cab tractor won't fit in my heated garage, same as you, low door.

I used to use a snowmobile helmet when blowing with my tractor; works quite well, especially wearing glasses.

I think you are going to need to find another place to keep the tractor if you get a cab for it. I would suspect you would do better selling your current tractor and buying another tractor with a cab. I will never buy another tractor without a cab with heat and A/C.

My Kubota M6040 is open station. I have two sets of down outerwear. Eddie Bauer and Alpine Design. This keeps me warm - lots cheaper than a cab - easily fits in my tractor carport.

Down jacket with hood - down gloves & pants - winter pacs.

My grandfather had a 5045e. He built his own cab for it using plexiglass, 2x2 lumber, and plywood. It was designed to be removable for summertime. No heater, but it was still comfy in cold weather. Needless to say it wasn't the prettiest cab around!
