When I got my 4300 the scissor assembly was broken. It works but would not stay in position. Today I took it apart and found that the links (look like a figure 8) were connected at one end but not connected at the other end. I took the spring assembly apart and found that the mounting points on the spring (looks like aluminum) had broken. My question is if they were bolts or cast attachment points. I need to know whether to ez out the parts or drill and tap new holes for a hardened bolt

I see the assembly but no breakdown

If there is not a breakdown, it usually means it is only available as a assembly. A call to the dealer would confirm this. I would try to drill and replace before I spent the money, you would be out nothing for trying.

my local JD dealers dont' even have a good schematic of this setup. There is a new and old version of the seat assembly. I am having the same issue, and one of the figure eight links actually broke, so I am going to have to weld that back together also. Were you able to drill out the existing assembly and replace?
