I am looking at a 310C 2WD with cab. Everything is straight and in good condition. Exterior has been repainted. Motor and hydraulics have all original paint and dust and have not been cleaned, but look very good. No leaks. Oil and antifreeze are new so hard to tell anything there. No obvious hydraulic leaks. Fairly tight joints. Front tires are about worn out. Rear tires good. 24" bucket. 3200 hours. Starts and runs good, no smoke. Brakes take a mighty step to keep from moving in idle, but I have noticed that on other machines.
This unit will be auctioned tomorrow. Any guesses on value?

Snowman.
Did you know the year of 310C.

Maybe this will help.
310C,1985,65hp diesel,5.770hrs,rops cap w/heater,fwd,kept up,asking $19,900.oo

310A,1979,58hp diesel,2wd,1.197hrs,rops cab w/heat,very clean,asking $9,950.oo

Hope this gives you a ball park figure, and watch and listen to others as they look at the unit before bidding takes place...good luck.

No, the year is not listed. I too have seen [ads for] older 310A's with cabs around $10,000. If I thought they'd be decent, I'd skip bidding on the "C" tomorrow and keep looking at an "A". However, the machine seems pretty good. We are thinking it should go in the $14-18K range. Not sure we want to be buying an auction unit at the high end of that range.

Short answer: We bought it!!! :)
Longer answer:
I read another post in this forum, recommending to check auction results through machinerytrader.com. I did that and figured out the year as 1989 through the serial numbers listed. And there were 57 auction results for 310C's from 1988 to 1990, and they calculated the average price as $13,900. Average "For Sale" Ad price was $20,400. After reviewing the various listings, I went into work and told my partner my prediction of $11,000 to $15,000. I would highly recommend that site for preparing to bid at an auction.

We bought it at $13,000. We are happy.

We didn't buy anything else.
