Deere 2210 Tractor - Engine starts, runs but when taken out of neutral stops

I have a Deere 2210 Compact Utility Tractor with hydrostatic drive. Mine is the type that has the hydrostatic pedals (forward and reverse) and the lever for high or low gear or neutral.
To start the tractor, the lever must be in neutral.

The tractor starts fine (in neutral) but when the level is moved towards Hi or Low the engine turns off immediately. The hydrostatic pedals are not engaged.

The operators manual does not have any electrical diagram to help me diagnose the issue.

Any ideas?

There are three switch tests in the Operator's Manual: Neutral Start, PTO and Seat. Did you mean perform these tests?

If you meant examine the switches themselves do you happen to know where they are? The seat switch is likely at the seat but the others?

Gary if your tractor is stored in cold weather, the seat switch may not being activated if the foam
is cold/frozen. my X585 has been doing this this week also, i have to bounce on the seat a few times
to get the foam to compress enough so the switch closes when i am sitting.

It was the seat safety switch - an improper connection where the wires plug into the seat.
