So just a follow up. I bought a jd 2025r. So far it seems ok. But last night I was dragging the box blade and it seemed under powered. Got me thinking should have sent with the 2032 . Jeeze this tractor purchase is a lot harder then I thought it would be. Also what rpm should I been running at?

Your tractor shouldn't be underpowered... it is more than likely operator error. If you are putting it under a load you should have your RPMs up. Also remember with the HST transmission... The travel pedal isn't like a gas pedal. If it is straining you actually need to let off the pedal instead of pushing it down more like you would in your truck. Also the proper range on the transmission needs to be used to match the task you are doing... it should be in low for heavy ground engagement work, etc. There are a few pointers... typing on my phone or I would expand. Good luck with the new tractor.

Thanks for the pointers. I noticed today with the hst, I am originally a city boy. What's a good operating rpm range ? I called the dealer today but spoke with the front desk girl as she spoke to salesmen to explain

One of the best things you could do would be to read the owner's manual for your new tractor. It will explain a lot of things you don't already know.

Update. 20hrs on my 2025r and I am totally disappointed. It's seems way underpowered. It was burning through fuel so I brought it into the dealer and now it's smoking like a train. When bought green I thought it would be great but now all I wish is it I could return it. Does anyone know if JD has a return policy?
Thanks and sorry for the rant.

No return policy. That's what the warranty is for.

I know you're disappointed, as I would be. But the fact is that these machines and their components are made by humans (mostly) and mistakes do happen. It sucks to be one of the unlucky few that gets a tractor with a problem, but the dealer should be able to get it worked out and back in your hands in good order.

My research has shown John Deere is the most user friendly, but Kubota is a very reliable tractor as is John Deere.

It's hard to say what the problem is but for what it's worth, I bought a 2720 a couple years ago and have twice the hours you have on it. Most of that has been running a pretty good sized Wallenstein chipper and moving lots of dirt, stone, and firewood. I've had no lack of power whatsoever with either chore, and the bigger the branch I feed into the chipper, the better the chipper works. Running it at the rated range on the gauge has proven to completely prevent any bogging down while chipping, and I run out of traction well before I run out of power. Like Pappy said, use the warranty while you can. Your tractor is about the same as mine and you shouldn't be having any power issues.
