I had a boss that aways wanted things "fixed" that worked fine for me. So it became my standard answer ( you weren't doing it right) when asked how I was able to get something running, even if I had to actually fix it.

Did you send it with the box blade, so they can show "how to use it correctly"?

I did, the grapple and the box blade is on it, so if the loader is still moving while the power is supposed to be on the box blade I will be asking why that is. My understanding this should NOT happen, and yet it does.

Good that you sent it with the attachments.
Let us know the "correct use" instructions. ;)

The words I was right never felt so bad. As I thought he wasn't paying close enough attention to what was going on. Once I showed him the real problem, he felt a little dumber. Though it feels good knowing it wasn't my stupidity, it only means more time without it and more $$$$. They were winding down for the day, but said it should be in the shop tomorrow, so hopefully I'll hear something and I'll pass it along.

I would think your bill would be $0.00 so far. At least they did not haul it back to you and tell you it was never broke. Again kudos for sending it with the attachments. A little hard to show them what's wrong with out them.

I would think so as well, just the pick up/delivery charge. I wasn't going to let it go without it and then them 'fixing' it and it not be fixed, as it would have probably been returned like it is now.

I think I'd find another dealer. Again it's not rocket sceince, how could the dealer not understand the issue? Even if you didn't explain it correctly, if he function tested it how could it be overlooked? I went though an issue with my 448 that the dealer kept saying was my fault. Within 2 hrs of delivery I had all the shanks and teeth off the bucket. They "fixed" it three times but insisted it was my doing. I explain that there's no way the hydralics were designed to destroy the componets and insisted they check the relief settings and questioned there weld methods.

Sure enough the bumped the relief up too high so the rockshaft could lift the hoe. They also weren't preheating the shanks before welding them. I work in the power industry with some of the best welders on earth. I took the bucket into work and had them weld it right. It's been six years since and not peeled one shank off and the welds look amazing.

I now rarely use that dealer since the obviouly don't know there products. I'd also only pay for the shop time and materials to actually fix the issue.

He is a good dealer and I've never had problems in the past. I believe he just misunderstood the problem. He said he didn't think it would move at all - any of them, and when he went to bring it in the shop and it moved he assumed all was good and didn't do any further testing. It was never brought into the shop because he thought there was no issue from what he understood from my initial question and his little bit of testing. The owner is a farmer himself and knows a thing or two about all the equipment, but he isn't a mechanic, like us. He's been able to help me out a ton through the years. Now that he knows the actual problem, they are bringing it into the shop tomorrow and will actually be testing out the machine with all the gizmos and gadgets instead of just doing what I did visually. If over the next few days he still isn't able to produce anything or tell me anything is wrong, I will take it to another dealer, which is a large chain and will be able to fix it, but I do believe that they will be able to handle it.

Out of my own curiosity: Did you call about the 06 in Montana?

I didn't get a chance today, do you need me to ask something for you?

Just curious, I guess if you call Triple W you can ask Wayne why he told me there was nothing wrong with my tractor;)

By the way, sorry if that question sounded a little nosy and in your face. I hit send and I was wishing I'd taken that out, but it was a little late...
