I know there is quite a few hunters here on TBN. How did you do this past season? I was fortunate enough to shoot a doe and a 9 point buck in New York, and a doe in Pennsylvania. Hope all of you had good luck as well.

Thomas,
Talk about waiting til the last moment!/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
Gun or bow?
I took a small 4 pointer, 125 pounds
second weekend of the muzzleloader
season. It was my 16 deer using
my good old trusty/rusty White Mountain Carbine
by TC.

I got a 4 pointer with the bow and nothing with the gun. First time without one with the gun./w3tcompact/icons/sad.gif

Get this one. Hunting in Wyoming I took a 17 pointer by eastern standards. By western it was a four point with a three pointer standing behind it. Took them both with one shot with a 270. Lucky to have my partner there to tag the extra.

Any luck? Yep, didn't get shot. Seriously, I only made it out the opening day due to a pulled groin muscle. Just wasn't up to hiking around. The good news is I felt better this past weekend, and managed a few hours walking around a gun show on Sunday. Found a minty Remington 760 in .35REM that already has me longing for next year. That should give me plenty of time to get the rings and that low-power variable scope it deserves...................chim

I must have missed it. How does it become a 17pt by eastern standards? Also, in case anyone cared, I am a measurer for the New York State Big Buck Club as well as Boone and Crocket and Pope and Young. There have been some nice bucks taken in our county but not as many as last year. A lot of bucks only scoring in the 120's. Still nice bucks though but last year we had quite a few make it. Have fun.

Thats one healthy 4 pointer.

Now would that be 50 cal White Moutain, for thats what I use.

Was there a good supply of fat on your 4 pointer, for my 8 had just about inch of fat on the rear.

I use 3 mature does for bait to harvest the pointer. /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif
