There have been a couple of posts about tire sizes lately, several of which have links to the Firestone and/or Goodyear farm tire sites.

That tire is 12.4 inches wide and stands 11 inches above a 28 inch diameter rim, I believe.

Around here, about every tire store sells Ag tires in addition to the usual car tires. Check your yellow pages under Tractors, Farm Equipment, or tires. Make some calls and someone in your area will point you in the right direction.

That's just an old way of marking tires. At one time it was a 11X28, but was changed to 12.4-28. For a time, they marked it both ways, to minimize confusion. The tire cross section width is approximately 12.4 inches and it goes on a 28 inch wheel.

I have the tire, in an Alliance brand, in 4 ply, for $131.48 plus freight. I have a Chinese built 6 ply for $118.30 plus freight. Firestone 4 and 6 ply are also in stock.
