Decoding JD 4300 serial number

I recently picked up a JD 4300. I know they were manufactured from 1998-2003. Can anyone tell me what year this one is from?

I'm thinking it is a 2001.
Google JD 4300 serial number and see if you can also find that year. The first three years seem to be published figures. The last three years seem to have muddled data.

I appreciate the response back beenthere. I had googled until I couldn't google any more before posting on here. :laughing: I ended up more confused than before I started. Some sites claim the model # is in the serial number, so the 4300 in the vin I assumed was the model #, and had nothing to do with the year of manufacture.I think I'll send an email to Derre and see if they respond back.
