Deck stops working

My neighboors GR2000 just quit on him as he was blowing leaves on the property. When he engages the deck it spins for a second then stops. Any advice on this problem?

You might try posting this in the lawn and garden section. You will probably get better feedback. I don't know about the GR2000, but I assume it's an electric engaged mower, so I would start by checking the switch and clutch and see the power/continuity of everything.
