I looked at a few Dearborn 2 bottom plows today. The "chiney" I stopped to see had 5 of 'em for sale.....quite a character, and fun to talk to. We knew a quite a few of the same people from time gone by....so we spent a good deal of time chatting 'em up. My dad likely sold all the old plows he had on his place....lol.
Anyway.....The nicest 2 bottom Dearborn he has includes new paint, all taken appart & bearings checked & greased and with rolling coulters, steel "furrow wheel" and scraper, and straight and in good "parade" condition for $375. He has another in the same conditon....but without the rolling coulters at $300. These are both pretty nice plows.
I am a little torn......the price for these little plows has doubled in the past few years.....I dont likely need the coulters on my sandy/loam land.....but I'm sure I will want them if I dont have 'em
....and what's $75 at the end of the day?
So....should I pay extra for the coulters (which I dont currently really need) or buy the one without? (the one without does have the brackets to add coulters).
I wish these little plows still sold for $100....like in the good ole days. Woe is me.

Oh....and reason for the plow is that I plan to open about 4 or 5 acres of new land next spring.....and to use for turning some green manure / cover crops in the time to come. Using the ripper this year and disc and then the tiller....is waaay too many trips over the ground. I'm hoping this little plow will help in this area.
