I am fixing to order some sweeps for my chisel plow. I use it for cultivating the rows in my garden. There are are a total of 6 tines, (3 per side).
I was told it is a Dearborn model 13-2. My question is how do i know what size and demensions of sweeps to order?

The "tine" measures 1 3/4" outside to outside. 2 sweeps that are currently on there now are 8" sweeps.

I think i am needing (2) 10" sweeps to do what i'm wanting to do. I just don't know the correct ones to order.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Travis, are you wanting to make beds for planting or just use the sweeps in between the rows to kill weeds and vegetation?

If the latter, how wide are your rows from the center of one bed to the center of the next one? For that use, I would choose a sweep that was wide enough to kill as much vegetation as possible without cutting the roots of your garden plants.

What you are referring to as "tines" are typically called "shanks". Take one of your existing sweeps to your local dealer so you can be sure to buy the right size sweeps that will match the width and bolt pattern of your shanks. I'm not positive, but I think the bolt patterns on most shanks are pretty standard.
