Buying Advice Dealers Not Ordering 2011 tractors

Hi Want To Buy A Boomer 40,4x4 With Loader,3 Dealers In The USA,Told Me The 2011's Are Junk And Are Not Ordering Any,Instead They Are Buying Up ,The 4 Digit Numbers Like 3040Or Models 2010 And 2009 And 2008,Sitting On Lots Where Ever,They are not Happy With The 2011 Year Tractors,,Now My Local Dealer Won't Tell me Anything but They Are Great And I Cover All I Sell,Thats fine,I Just Don't Want A Lemon,Crying Wolf Hay Its Still Making Noise Or A Clunk,Ya Know The Story's,That Happen With New Vehicles,Pat Ya On The Back When Ya Buy It ,And Screw Ya When Ya need It Fixed,NOW Don't Get Me Wrong Been A Ford Man,Vehicles And Tractors Long Time,Got A 52 8N Fires Right Up,And Hate To Trade,It When They Wont Give Ya Anything For What ya got , But Want To Know Have These's 2011 Been A Nightmear For people Out There,The Dealer Story's Been Turning Off ,And Now Looking For New Old Stock 3040,But 4.9 finince Sucks Where Free If i Get 2011, So Whatz Going On.

Rexman, what's going on is the shift from Shibaura as a tractor supplier to LS tractors. Many dealers and buyers see the LS models as not up to the previous quality standards of Shibaura. The 3040 is a Shibaura model. If I wanted a New Holland, I'd buy the 3040. If I wanted an LS, I'd go down the street and find an LS dealer rather than buy one through New Holland.

My local NH dealer had a open house several months back and there was very few NH tractors there-mostly MF. The sales guy said they had NH's on order but nothing was coming in and they were back ordered and they were tough to get in.

I suspect the new LS line will work out ok in the future once they get all the logistic and paperwork bugs worked out.

Got myself a Boomer 50. Seems okay to me. Can't say for sure that it isn't junk because I don't have ten thousand trouble free hours on it yet. I'll let you know....

Let's get realistic, nothing is junk. LS is a decent tractor just not what America and New Holland dealers are used to. Give them a fair shot before calling them junk.

If the dealers are saying that in those words then I think they are quite out of line to talk about their product like that.

I was out looking at tractors myself last weekend and looked at the John Deere 4120 and the New Holland Boomer 3040. Now I work in the New Jersey/NYC area, but my main property is around the Buffalo, NY area.

Speaking to the NJ New Holland dealer, he showed me both the new Boomer 40 and the Boomer 3040. I sat on the new Boomer 40 and that is a very uncomfortable operator's platform. While the tractor might be good quality, New Holland really did not take the time to work with LS Tractor to redesign the operator's platform. When I sat on the Boomer 40, it felt like my knees were going into my chest and it was a chore to lift your leg to move between the hydro pedals. I would find it tough to sit on this tractor for hours. However, when I sat on the Boomer 3040, I had more leg room, better field on vision and could go on.

I am looking to purchase a Boomer 3040 (unless that does not work out, then it will be a JD 4120) from my long time dealer up in Buffalo and what I find interesting that both the NJ and NY New Holland dealers said was that they sell these new Boomer tractor models to women (because they tend to be shorter), a person who never owned a larger tractor before or someone who has not had a new tractor in 20 years and is trading up from an older tractor, such as a Ford 1510. However, the dealers both said that men and women who have owned a later model tractor tend to choose the Boomer 2000 or 3000 series tractor over the new Boomer tractor models. Unfortunately, both dealers agree that they are not fond of the new Boomer models and are a little worried where the consumer base will go after they sell out of the older Boomer tractor line. One dealer was mad because he could no longer get SCUTs or CUTs w/cab in the new Boomer line. Who knows, maybe New Holland will pick up the LS Tractor痴 small compact and larger utility tractors w/cab lines in 2012.

At the moment, my impression is that New Holland does not care about the SCUTs and CUTs because of all the money they are making off of the larger AG tractors. In addition, they might not want to invest heavily in the SCUTs and/or CUTs because of all the money they are spending to meet Tier 4 emissions with the new engines using SCR and CEGRS (EGRS is JD). I guess the big time farmers must be spending a lot of money these days for the big stuff.

or maybe New Holland will just go back to what was working for them and not try to save the greedy couple of bucks so some vp can get a bigger bonus.

Yeah, they'll do that when you start selling t-bones at hamburger prices.

Actually, I think the people who make these decisions are so far removed from the actual tractors that all they see is spreadsheets and pie charts. They wouldn't know a great tractor feature if it jumped up and bit them in the rump-roast.
