Davis loader Deere 1070

Looking at a 1993 Deere 1070 tractor 4x4 to replace my old Ferguson 35. The Ferguson 35 has a Davis 102 loader run off a front mount Cesna 20GPM pump.

What are the chances the loader will fit the Deere. Appears attached to the Fergie with two big bolts on the frame under the radiator, and then attaches to the rear axle with a couple big pieces of box tubing hung below the axels.

Anyone know if this thing would fit?

You can make anything work, but it won't be easy. How are your fabrication skills? The loader on the 1070 has 4 mounts, there are 2 tubes with 4 bolt flanges that bolt to either side of the engine (or trans, I can't remember for sure) right in front of the floor boards- they stick out about a foot on either side. There are also 2 mounts up front (also 4 bolt flanges on the side). The loader frame "locks" into these 4 mounts to enable quick-disconnecting. The loaders for these really are pretty specific to each series machine. I spent a lot of time looking for a used one for mine and finally found one.

If you can fabricate, you could probably make some hangers that mount on these mounting points and drop down to the frame on the loader that you have. Can I assume you have joystick control built into your loader? If not, try to find a 1070 with the joystick control and scv ports already- they don't all have them, and if you have to add it, it will be pretty expensive.

If you want to find the right loader, it will be either an 80 or a 440. As far as I can tell they are the same loader, but the 440 has a quick-attach bucket.

I do have the spool blocks, hydraulic pump and everything mounted on the loader frame. So I was assuming I just get the pump mounted on the JD somehow and bolt 'er to the bottom of the tractor I would be good. I'll do some measuring this may be more then I want to tackle. Was just hoping to get cheap 4wd.

Assuming the undercarrige of the JD is clean, the quick connects for my loader I though I could just bolt to the axle castings on the JD (They are just box tubes), then make a bracket to attach the front mount of the loader to the front mount of the JD, what is the undercarrige clutter like on the Deere?

Sounds like I had better get to it with a tape measure first.
