David Brown 885 oil seals

hi all.... Upon removal of rear oil seal cover and driving seal out I discovered there were two seals pressed on top of each other . Is that correct? or did someone before me just installed wrong?

I used the Case/IH online parts book to look up the rear seal(s) on your tractor. Selecting the rear seal, #6 in the numerical list, it does say it requires 2 of the rope seals. Case IH Parts for Case IH Tractors, Case IH Combines, Case IH Tractors, Case IH Manuals, Case IH Parts If the secondary window doesn't pop up, giving the description, part number, and how many required, just select #6 in the list.

You can even use the "check Price" feature, by selecting any near by Case/IH dealer,and it will show the price. Price should be good from any dealer in the continental U.S.

I thank you for looking this up but I was not clear on what seal I was talking about. I was talking about the rear axle seal that final drive shaft goes into rear end.

09112.....Yes, I managed to get it all lined back up and in place by hand, but let me tell you that was frustrating ....I'll never let that happen again if I need to pull the final drive out again. Thanks for asking
