They were up here in Michigan last weekend. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
They headed South Monday morning when the temperature hit 31 degrees. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I had a living room full of both yellow and red ones all winter last year. I never did find out what was drawing them in or even HOW they were getting in. They would fly around and bump into my large angled windows up high in my living room until they died. We could vacuum up 50-100 per day at the peak. Go on vacation for a week and the carpet under the windows would be covered with them.

Maybe not ladybugs, but suspect they are the Asian beetles.

For the second year now, I have been spraying (I use ORTHO Home Defense) and either it works (there are a lot of dead ones) or there are fewer of them that want to enter the house. Two years ago they were everywhere in the house, and I cleaned them up all winter long (thinking they were in my wood pile that was under cover, and I brought them in that way). This reminds me that I will go out now and spray the woodpile down to cut the population down a bit, that is if the spray works. As I understand the spray, when they walk on it, they die. And it says it lasts for three months.
It does a number on spiders, Daddy long legs, and crickets as well.

I'm glad to hear that. I'd forgotten about my annual bombardment of ladybugs. Perhaps if I start spraying now I can minimize it this year (yeah right)

Does this spray leave a residue that you can see or collects dirt? Hope not- it sounds like the answer to my wife's prayers.

I can see it some on the window glass, but I don't see it collecting dust or discoloring the painted trim. Mostly I spray it on the stained (dark brown) rough sawn cedar and cedar shingles. I spray the thresholds and around the doors and a foot out on the concrete stoops. Lots of dead beetles to sweep up. The last two cool days have slowed them down from flying in the air. If it snows this weekend, maybe that will help too. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
