It seems many attached pictures posted in the various forums are very dark when I open them. Is it just my 'puter that has this problem? Or everyone? I sometimes copy them off and lighten them up just to be able to see the details better.

In general, most of those photos posted look ok to me. It wouldn't be your computer, but rather your monitor. Play with the contrast/brightness.

My In-laws have a monitor that is cranked up all the way, and everything is still dark. They need a new monitor.

There are many websites that do this in one way or another, here is one to Calibrate your Monitor.

Can you post a link to a thread where some of these pictures are. That we we could look at the exact same photo and see how they look. But it probably is your monitor settings.

MOST of the pictures i view seem to be ok, on occasion one may be dark ,but that is the picture itself

I did increase the brightness of my monitor some. I work on it most of the day in Autocad, Excel, Word, etc. and it is/was fine for those. The pictures are a little lighter, but still what I would consider a little dark. I will look back and see if I can find some those attachments I was thinking of.

Did you visit that link I provided above? Were you able to see all 11 distinct zones?

How about the 24 unique sets of gray?

The 90% and 100% pretty much run together. And the last couple sets of grey run together. This is my work computer (where I normally log in since I am too far in the country to get high speed at home). I may see if I can get the computer gurus to get me a new monitor. Although I am not sure poor picture display on TBN will qualify as an excuse. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

If your brightness is topped out and you can't tell 90 from 100, perhaps you do need to play "musical monitors".

But I have 80% blending in as well [I've needed a new monitor for several months, just can't convince myself what to get], but don't have trouble with TBN pictures....so I'm not sure.
