Can you explain your handle?

User name comes from riding bulls along, long time ago as a hobby also in minor rodeo leagues and small time events. Also at or in between worked as a bullfighter(not to be mistaken for bullfighters of Spain). As time went by I grew and got a little to heavy(and old) and a rodeoing buddy of mine started teasing me,saying one of these days your gonna "break the bulls".See traditionally bullriders tend to be around 5'-5'10"125 to 160lbs tops. I never made it to bigtime pro leagues(PBR,PRCA). Rodeo type events always was-is my alltime favorite sport.Thats me on right with two of my four sons and a great friend from church on left. The background you see is in our place in FLA(lots of white sand). Well I guess those attending will have one whale of a bull story to tell. Hope he got well for the sake of his family. It would be interested to know if it changed his view on bull fighting.

Good post Gale.

Bullbreaker. I was gonna comment in the username post. No offense (and a little respect)...you are crazy. Some of my friends rode bulls growing up, and even back then I thought...no frickin way! You've got to be young and dumb to think that is a good idea! I've seen a couple PBR bulls, I'm glad for your backbone (and shoulder) that you never rode those.

As daddy used to say " monkey with the bull, you get the horns."

What is so bad about hunting bear with dogs?

I've seen several videos of dogs chasing the bear into a place where the bear cannot escape and then taking turns going after the bear. The bear is not treed. The bear gets pretty disturbed. The hunters then let the dogs go after it for a while longer to get the dogs some more experience. Then, they finally shoot the bear and give each other high-fives.

No sport in tormenting an animal, in my opinion.

It's one thing to keep a dog on the scent of something to help you track it down. It is quite another thing to let the dog tear up and torment the animal you are tracking.

I have no problem with bull riding. It seems that the bull can take care of himself and actually enjoys going after folks. I've been around a few bulls as a kid. They were just plain angry. I had a girlfriend that had a pet bull. It would come up to the fence to get treats from her or her mom. However, if a male (me, her dad, the male dog) came up to the fence, look out!

More power to the bull.

My dad's best friend raised, trained, and sold coon hounds. So I've been on a few coon hunts with him and the "sport" was to jump a coon out of the tree in which the dogs had him treed, and watch the fight; always at least 2 and more often 3 or 4 dogs to tear up one coon. Another sadistic sport, in my opinion.
