Damsel and dragon flies are cousins I guess from reading a bit. A damsel fly at rest will have its wings folded back parallel to the body. Dragon fly wings remain extended away from the body. I never really paid attention to trying to separately identify the two. Now I have to watch this summer. It isn't easy to find them resting.
I like the blue darters - they seem to hang around our place all day, eating mosquitos.
So that is a dragon fly then?
